Getting Started with Your Space Engineers Server
Ready to build spaceships and stations with your friends? Here's how to set up the server.
1. Find your server
Go to My Services and open your Space Engineers server to see the console, files, and settings.
2. Set up your world
The first time the server starts, a new world is generated. Under Files you can edit SpaceEngineers-Dedicated.cfg to adjust:
SessionName— the name shown in the server listMaxPlayers— maximum number of playersWorldName— the world's name- Asteroid density and starting location
3. Start the server
Click Start. The first boot generates the world and typically takes a couple of minutes.
4. Connect to the server

Tips
- Enable automatic backups before building large constructions — it saves you hours of work if something goes wrong.
- Adjust simulation speed and sync distance in the config file if the server feels slow with many players online.
- Use the file manager to restore an earlier save if a player accidentally deletes an important station.
