How to order, configure, and connect to your new V Rising server at Potionhost.
Getting Started with Your V Rising Server
Ready to build your vampire castle? Here is how to get your V Rising server running.
1. Find your server in the control panel
Go to My Services and open your V Rising server. From here you have access to the console, file manager, backups, and settings.
2. Configure the server settings
Under Startup you can adjust basic options such as the server name, password, and maximum number of players. To fine-tune the game rules further (for example clan size, PvP settings, or resource rates), edit ServerGameSettings.json under Files. Save and restart the server for the changes to take effect.
3. Start the server
Click Start in the console. The first boot typically takes about a minute while the world initializes.
4. Connect to your server
Open V Rising, go to Multiplayer → Direct Connect, and enter your server's IP address and port (shown at the top of the control panel).
Tips
- Enable automatic backups under the Backups tab so you never lose your progress.
- Use
ServerHostSettings.jsonunder Files to change the server name and port settings. - Only invite friends you trust as administrators - admin rights allow changing every server setting.
